January 2024 - Challenge #3 - Let's Get Sketchy!

I really wanted to do more challenges with our monthly kits and so I asked the Master Forgers what they thought and we all voted that was a GREAT idea.  I will make it easy for you. Challenge #3 will always be a sketch that one of us has found, or even created as we have TWO Master Forgers who create sketches!!! 

I chose a sketch from Page Maps February 2022.  These sketches are created by Becky Fleck and are available on her website. You can check out her archives here.

Hi everyone! Since my January kit was snow theme based I went in that direction with the sketch. I love this sketch. Even though hearts would have certainly worked just as well with my photos, I decided to go with silver snowflakes. I feel they compliment the snowflake paper and my photos quite nicely. I hope you think so too,

 

 

Master Forger Tina

It was a fun sketch to play with and I even did the stitching! I used mostly some blue papers in my kit brought in the cream paper for the center section. Lots of wordy embellishments from the kit

I really loved this sketch.  It's simple but gives you a way to use different patterned papers together plus it had stitching on it and that's one of my favorite ways to add texture to my layout.  I traded out the hearts for snowflakes that I stamped with an ombre stamp pad and fussy cut!  I added hearts on top of the snowflakes in a nod to the hearts on the sketch!
