November 2026 - Mini Kit & Project Reveal

Whether you are short on time with the holiday season approaching, or you just prefer a smaller selection of supplies to work with, today's post is for you! Today we have inspiration using mini kits!

As a reminder, our inspiration kit this month is "Grateful" by Miss Kate Designs

Master Forger Laurie

I created my kit by focusing on the beautiful combination of teal, rust, mustard and cream. I pulled together a variety of gingham, polka dots, floral and some autumn themed papers. I added coordinating frames, embellishments and fall inspired stickers. My kit has a more whimsical feel, but still captures the warm, cozy autumn and grateful spirit of our inspiration kit.

Here are the layouts I've created.

Master Forger Christine

I went straight for all the fall colors! I pulled five full-size patterned papers, along with coordinating stickers and embellishments. I was so excited to get started that I completely forgot to take pictures of my kit before I started cutting into it. Oops!  Thankfully a few screenshots from my reveal video helps fill the gap.  I also ended up adding a piece of white cardstock and a piece of cream cardstock as I worked, and later added two more pieces of cardstock when I decided to see what I could do with the scraps.

Here's the kit I made:

Layout #1 – Future Harvest

This layout documents an event at church. I used the dark green cardstock as my background and brought in the harvest embellishments, butterflies and that big title. I also included Matthew 9:37-38, which felt especially fitting for the photos. I love how the pops of orange and yellow stand out against the green.

Layout #2 – Cool & Crisp

A couple of photos of ducks enjoying the pond called for a little fall documenting. I used the mustard yellow paper for the background and created a fun border with the blue striped paper. The "Cool & Crisp" title was just too perfect for these photos, and I love how the blue adds a little unexpected color to the traditional fall palette.

Layout #3 – Fall

This one features a photo of Brooke, and I had fun creating a more layered design with the pumpkin paper and blue stripes. I pulled out lots of the floral, butterfly and harvest embellishments to create a big cluster around the photo. Sometimes you just need to use all the pretty things!

Layout #4 – Harvest Happy

For my last layout, I went with a much simpler white background and two photos. I created little clusters around each photo using leftover patterned paper strips and embellishments and some old school, handwritten doodles. I love how the white space lets the photos and all those fall colors stand out.

And Then There Were Cards!

Once I was down to scraps, I decided to keep going and make some cards. I added two more pieces of cardstock for card bases and managed to create three cards using the leftover patterned papers, stickers and embellishments. A little extra creativity and nothing goes to waste!

The Final Tally

Four single-page layouts and three cards, all from five sheets of patterned paper (plus a little cardstock along the way). Not too shabby!

I always love seeing how far I can stretch a kit, and this one definitely earned its keep. Now, let's see if I can actually put those three cards in the mail instead of adding them to my growing pile of cards. 😂
