January 2022 - Challenge #1 - Use Your Tools

Challenge #1 is to Use Your Tools. You may have received a tool or two for Christmas. Wells let's put it to use and let no dust collect on it. So, pull out your punches or dies, that stamp set, your embossing folders or that new cut file and make a project with it.

As a reminder. Master Forger Cindy choose the digital Kit from Traci Reed - On the Go and Going Slow for inspiration this month.

Master Forger Tara:

I received some cute little leaf and bird nest dies for Christmas from my sister this year.  I like using stuff like that as layering pieces and so I used the leaves to layer behind my ephemera on this layout of my daughter and I on her high school graduation day!!

Master Forger Leslie used her new Cricut Explore Air 2, punches & dies to create a flurry of snowflakes for her take on this challenge! More details on her blog HERE.

Master Forger Tina used her punches, lots of punches to embellish her layout

Master Forger Cindy created a double page layout using the hexagon dies for the background and several of the flower and leaf dies and punches for the accents that were in her kit.

Blog post here,

Master Forger Juliet used her punches and her Cricut, probably two of her favorite tools besides her scissors!  (She does also love to fussy cut!)

Here is what the rest of January will look like.

January 2022 - Mini- Kit Reveal & Projects

Hello everyone.

Today we are showcasing our Mini Kit Reveal and Projects created with those kits. As a reminder, Master Forger Cindy chose a digital kit from Traci Reed Designs called On the Go and Going Slow.

The kit can be found here: On The Go and Going Slow Digital Kit — Traci Reed Designs

We have MF Lisa and MF Laura with their mini kit and project using our inspiration kit.

MF Laura says: "For my mini kit his month I pulled out all the scraps! I selected 3 larger 12x12 scraps, some smaller scraps, a handful of die cuts and my punched gold hearts from a previous CKC kit. I love the yellow in the inspiration kit, especially at this time of year."

"I used my kit to create this traveler's notebook spread. This picture of pretty autumn leaves was a perfect match for the colours in my kit and the smaller sized kit really lend itself to smaller projects like these."

MF Lisa says: "I picked out the greens, yellows and brighter pink for my kit and ended up with something that's really a bit different to the original! But as always, I can see the inspiration, even if it's a bit difficult to pick out. I fished out the papers from my older stash and then topped it up with a handful of fussy cut and pushed shapes as well as a sprinkling of flowers, veneer and ribbons - all the with the intention of making some cards. Die-cuts and stamps would be added as I go along!"

I've started by making four cards from the scalloped edge My Mind's Eye paper with some die cut words and a little stamping. These are such easy designs that I feel a bit guilty but I kind of like their quirkiness! There is still a lot of paper and embellishments left that I'd like to continue working with to top up my depleted stock of cards - I'll be sure to share when I do!"

Here is what the rest of January will look like:

January 2022 - Forgery on the Fourth

Forgery on the Forth is back again today to show you how it's possible to look at the inspiration kit and see if there are any elements which you would love to incorporate into your own kit but that you don't have in your stash right now, and then take this idea and make your own version!

MF of Ceremonies Cindy has chosen this kit for our inspiration:

Here is the Moodboard for January

Let's see what the Design Team has counterfeited!

MF JULENE - I forged the black and white branch paper 4th from left using a zig pen.

MF Misty recreated the scalloped rainbow pattern paper with a pen and a scallop  border stamp.

MF Cindy recreated the heart paper using a stamp, several ink colors and a pen.

January 2022 - Just The Gist Of It

Our inspiration kit this month comes from Traci Reed Designs "On the Go and Going Slow". The kit can be found here: On The Go and Going Slow Digital Kit — Traci Reed Designs

Here is all the pieces to her digital kit:

The main kit:

The papers:

The journal cards #1

and #2

The stickers

The travelers notebook.

There is a lot of inspiration in this kit. Are you trying to make a full kit, or do you want one for just a couple of layouts, a card or a layout in your Travelers notebook, or are you making a kit for scrapbooking for later? First decide what you want to make and how much scrapbooking are you going to do.

I pulled out the butterfly paper and stamped some hearts to go along with it. Two icons that are in the original kit. I added in some dots and a few fussy cut flowers along with a bunched border. My paper goes well with the inspiration paper, I just have a lot of butterflies instead of the bugs. I am also bringing in purple into my kit.

So, find what inspires you from the "On the Go and Going Slow" kit and it your own.

January 2022 - Counterfeit Kit Challenge Kit Reveal and Blog Hop

Happy New Year!

Welcome back to the new year and a new year of making Counterfeit Kits. I have picked a digital kit from Traci Reed Designs called On the Go and Going Slow. I love the colors, the large variety of elements, the variety of three sets of alphabets and of course there is the "busy as a bee" and a "snail, slug life" side. I still have the pictures to scrap of 2021 that are not all about Christmas and this will be perfect for both Christmas, travel, birthdays or celebrations - just all-around scrapbooking.

The kit can be found here: On The Go and Going Slow Digital Kit — Traci Reed Designs

Here is the papers:

There are also Journaling Cards #1

and cards #2

A Traveler's Notebook

and stickers

December 2021 - Scrappy's Counterfeit Kit Challenge Advent Calendar Kit! Day Twenty Four

Counterfeit Kit Challenge is all about shopping our own stash & creating a personally curated kit.

In our first post we explained what the "Scrappy's CKC Advent Calendar Kit" challenge is all about and how to get started.

We will spend a few minutes every day until Christmas Eve hunting & gathering an item from a quick daily prompt to add to our box of goodies! We will end up with a project kit to be played with between Christmas & New Year’s Eve, if your schedule allows, or in early 2022.

Currently choosing bits & bobs!

Day Twenty Four: Add any of your go-to supplies.

Tell us about your choice over in the Facebook Counterfeit Kit Community group! Some of our Design Team will be playing along over there, too. It will be fun to watch our kits grow over the days until Christmas Eve!

Handy Hint: Enjoy Christmas Eve.
