July 2026 - Challenge #3 - Let's Get Sketchy

Welcome to our third challenge of the month!

It's time to pull out your July kits and get inspired by a sketch. I always love seeing how one sketch can spark dozens of completely different layouts, and I can't wait to see where this one takes you.

First, a reminder of our inspo kit:

This month's sketch was inspired by the bold graphic designs and strong vertical elements found throughout our Crescendo Deluxe Theme Kit inspiration. The large center panel creates the perfect foundation for photos, while the horizontal band offers plenty of space for embellishments, journaling, or layers.

Feel free to follow the sketch exactly or use it simply as a jumping-off point. Rotate it, flip it, add more photos, swap the embellishment areas for journaling, or adapt it to fit your story. The goal is inspiration, not duplication.

A few things I love about this sketch:

• It works beautifully with both bright and neutral color palettes.
• The four-photo design makes it perfect for documenting an event or series of moments.
• The strong vertical design creates natural movement across the page.
• It leaves plenty of room for embellishments without overwhelming your photos.

Most importantly, have fun with it! Use your counterfeit kit, shop your stash, and make the sketch your own.

I opted to use just a single photo to switch up the sketch just a little bit!

I really liked the design of this sketch, so followed it almost exactly.  I replaced two of the photos with 3x4 pocket cards that I cut down to fit. I will add a little journaling and the date to these cards.  I added a small embellishment cluster in the upper right hand corner to finish the layout.

November 2025 - Challenge #3 - Let's Get Sketchy

 

Welcome to our sketch challenge for November! Before we get into the challenge details, let's take a look at our monthly inspiration kit again - October Glow by Cocoa Daisy

Here is my take on this month's sketch and I actually got to use the leaves that I stamped and fussy cut to tuck in.  I did a bit of stamping behind the photo, too.

I absolutely love autumn.  I love the colors of autumn and I especially love all the fantastic autumn scrapbooking papers out there.  It was especially fun creating my kit for this month.  This sketch was perfect for two photos that I took while walking my dogs and enjoying the colors of nature.  I was so thrilled to be able to use the fall dog paper.  I fussy cut some leaves from another sheet of paper to use as embellishments.  I love the texture that the burlap ribbon behind the photos provided.

September 2025 - Inspiration Kit Reveal and Social Media Hop!!!

 Hello and welcome to September!  It's the first of the month and time to reveal our inspiration kit.  I'm Master Forger Vikki and I'll be hosting the blog this month. Our goal here at CKCB is to curate a kit using our stash, without having to buy more product.  Let's dive right in and take a look at this month's inspiration kit!

This month I chose Life Captured by Simple Stories.  I absolutely love the colors in this kit. I also love how versatile it is by including the months of the year, so you can use it for any season that you happen to be documenting.

I am happy to introduce this month's Guest Designer, Stephanie Olson.  She is super talented and I am so happy that she is joining us this month.

August 2025 - Inspiration Kit Reveal and Social Media Hop!!!

 Welcome to August, our new Counterfeit Kit is here: It's the first of the month, and you know what that means....time to dive into a brand new Counterfeit Kit Challenge! Whether you're a long time participant or just discovering us, we are thrilled to have you join us as we kick off another inspiring month of creativity, inspiration, and kit creating.

For this month's inspiration kit, I have chosen Farmhouse Summer by Carta Bella, which captures the heart of country living with a homey palette and timeless design motifs. It's the perfect blend of rustic charm and fresh summer energy.
