Trash to Treasure: Product Packaging

Good morning forgers! I hope this month has you creating lots of yummy goodies. Today I am here to share some ideas for using the PACKAGING of some scrapbook products. I don't know about you but I need to STRETCH my $$$  as far as possible in these times. So here we go.

This blog post has a great idea that I have done several times. She cuts up the front page of a collection kit to get lots of little bits and pieces to use. http://everything4scrapbooking.blogspot.com/2012/12/trash-to-treasure-scrapbook-supplies.html

Remember Ghost Letters? You know you can make your own from packaging but HOW do you use them? This old thread has LOTS of good ideas! http://www.scrapbook.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/1518933/

This article shows three ways to use embellishment packaging: http://debbiehodge.com/2011/04/three-ways-to-repurpose-your-packaging/

And last but not least why not use the packaging simply as inspiration: Here is a pinterest board showing tons of examples http://pinterest.com/getitscrapped/inspo-packaging-branding/

Happy trash to treasuring!

  1. Great ideas, I'm always using my packaging and that Pinterest page is superb. Never thought about using the front page of a paper pack though

  2. I use my cellophane packaging to bag up my cards to sell.I've used the strips from the bottom of patterned papers too.

  4. Great ideas! I remember a really old tutorial about ghost letters from milk cartons :) Funny to think about that and how old trends become new again!

  5. I just did a layout using some of my Prima button packaging, plus the printed acetate backing to a Studio Calico Stamp - it's so nice to have extra options and sometimes they fit the bill perfectly.
