Get Well Cards - Part One

Hello, Susanne here today working on a kit for Get Well cards.  Making cards is something that I procrastinate about, and always regret later.  So this month's friendly little nudges here @  CKC will do me good.

I started my kit by using  . . .  a kit.  Foul! you cry.  Now wait just a minute.  It is a very simple card set from Stampin Up that is meant to get new stampers stamping.   Well, it might just work for old experienced stampers too.  Basically, it contains card bases, envelopes, stickers, twine and rhinestones.  Being more of the scrapping sort than stamping sort, I have added to the kit.  See now, there's fair play.

I found large paper scraps from my last several counterfeit kits in complementary colors to the card bases.  Then I searched my stash for buttons, small flowers, twine, washi tape and ribbon.  I think that is enough elements with which to start work. For stamps, I pulled sentiments from various Stampin Up sets. I might use some punches as well.

Here's my kit excluding the stamps.

And here is one of my first cards.

You can pop over to my blog for another card.  And then, I'll see you back here tomorrow with more examples to inspire you.

  1. Pretty card and I need some more get well cards too.

  2. Of course you are going to have fun with this challenge Susanne! Great kit and what a lovely card to start us off with :-)

  3. Super cute kit (no foul! my opinion it's in your stash it's fair game :) The card is cute enough to cheer anyone up :)

  4. Great way to put your kit together to make it easy peasy! The sunny yellow element on the card is a nice way to brighten the day of someone who is ailing, and who doesn't love a button threaded with twine? :)
