Quick Poll of YOU, our favorite people!

YOU are the whole reason we work so hard at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog.  Our purpose in doing this every month is to give you some inspiration to be able to enjoy scrapping without feeling like you need to go out and buy the latest and greatest.  You can pull together the stuff you have already bought...and already love to make something special!

That being said, we also want to make sure what we are doing is serving your needs.  We want you to have fun and the information/ideas we share to be something you can use.  We have been talking about the different things we do each month, to make sure we are on top of what would be most useful to you and got stuck on one of our monthly features: Forgeries on the 4th.  CKC has been doing forgeries since the beginning, but have noticed that we, personally, have not been making too many of our own embellishments lately.  So....

Forgeries on the 4th:  Is it helpful/useful to YOU?  Is it a feature we should keep every month or should we cook up something else fun?  Do you even make your own embellisments/papers?

Please let us know either on this post or on Facebook (we will add the question there, too), so we can make sure we providing you with what you want to read.

  1. It was one of my favourite features when I first started joining in with you, and I still love to see the master forger's 'fakes'. But thinking about it, I don't make all that much for myself any more. I do intend to join in each month but time and energy and life keep getting in the way!

  2. I love the forgeries! I may or may not use them with the current month's kit but I have seen such incredible talent from some of your Master Forgers. I hope I'm not alone,...I would miss that feature. That being said, I wouldn't want to hold you back from anything new that you want to "cook up". Can you, please, consider doing both? :)

As to making my own, the answer would be sometimes. Sometimes, it seems to time consuming a task and I want to work with what I have readily available as is, (which can be quite a bit). Other times, I want to slow down and savor the creativity. It's just a different way of using what I have.

Thanks for all you do! I may be busy with other projects right now but I hope to continue to participate when I can. I love your blog! ....AND your designers! The participants aren't too bad either ;)

  3. I can't imagine CKC without FOTF. It is like side B to a hit single. It is fundamental to the whole concept of the blog. Build a kit from your stash, then create parts of it with what you have. These two activities go together like Peanut Butter and Jam, Marco and Polo, Paper and Adhesives. What would one be with out the other? The synergistic combination of the two is the distinguishing character that makes CKCB so incredibly unique.

  4. I love to see what your designers do with forgeries on the 4th and I really like the ideas but most of the time I am too lazy to get the stuff out and do it myself. I am a newby to CKC, only been here for a few months now. I do really think there is so much talent here on the whole blog and looking at everyone's creations is such a help. I keep stuff in the back of my mind and pull it out later. With that being said I have seen several people use the forgeries so would really hate to see you get rid of it.

  8. Love the forgeries too. It's the main reason I stumbled across CKC in the first place.I need use up what I already have and the forgeries are inspiring. I'm not opposed to new ideas too ;-)

  11. I enjoy seeing your DT making the forgeries. However, I won't make the forgeries myself because, for me, the point of the counterfeit kit is to use up what I already have! And I have a ton. LOL!!

    1. I hear you, Tara. However, just about all the time, the forgeries use the supplies you already have and makes good use of scraps :)

  12. I love reading them and looking at them and just get where I don't have time to actually DO them. But they are on the TO DO list. I think I've tried a handful but it's not that they aren't great, it's me being lazy!

  13. You cannot, I repeat, CANNOT, get rid of this feature!!! It is one of the best parts of this blog! I myself love to come up with forgeries for my kit, and try to do at least one with every Kit. Maybe, if participation is low in that area, offer a separate link up or challenge, bonus points or prizes to people who do follow through with the forgeries? They're just so much fun to do, and stretch a person creatively so much that I think everyone should give IT a try!
