Welcome to "Forgeries on the Fourth" where it is no crime to create your own version of the trendy, hip products from the inspiration kit using your own stash and ingenuity. Each month on the fourth, check out tutorials from your Master Forgers or links to resources they have found for you on the internet.
Have you seen the "kit" to copy this month? Well, actually it's not a kit, but several yummy Basic Grey collection packs! It is so hard to choose which one to copy and I'm not gonna lie...I have a feeling I may be purchasing one or two of these in addition to counterfeiting them! (But that will be our little secret!)
Since these are exclusively paper kits, Bethany advised us to "go rogue" with the embellishments...meaning add in whatever your little heart desires. So, even though we don't have something exact to mimic, we thought we would provide you with some links to basic embellies you can make yourself that coordinate with each one of the collections. Of course, the kit you create may not be an exact replica, but these tutorials are versatile enough to give you some inspiration to create one or two handmade embellies for your kit. Let's take a look at what the Master Forgers have gathered up for you!
EXTRA CHALLENGE - PRIZE ALERT!
We know you love the tutorials based on the feedback we received from our recent poll. Let's put them to use this month by creating some embellishments for our kits. Here's what to do:
1. Use one of the tutorials below to create an embellishment. Of course, you can modify and tweak it to suit your needs, but it should be loosely based on the tut.
2. Photograph your completed project and add to June Mr. Linky using the description FORGERY by June 30, 2015. Your name will be included in a drawing to win a little prize from me.
3. If you also USE your embellishment on a project, add it to June Mr. Linky using the description FORGERY IN PROJECT by June 30, 2015 for an additional chance to win.
4. Be sure to use those descriptions so I can easily find your entries.
4. Be sure to use those descriptions so I can easily find your entries.
5. There's no limit to the number entries. US and international entries are welcome.
6. I'll randomly choose a name from all eligible entries and send out a little package of scrappy goodness!
Looking forward to seeing your creations. I think you will be pleased with your efforts!
To quote our CKC participant Roxy from the blog: "They're just so much fun to do, and stretch a person creatively so much that I think everyone should give IT a try!
So without further ado...THE TUTORIALS!
