Interview Style: Leslie and Julene!

Bethany: How did you hear about Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog? How long have you been playing along with us?
Leslie: I heard about CKC from Master Forgers Lisa Hausmann & subsequently Lynnette Nagle. My first month was early in 2012. I joined the Design Team July 2012. I actually started my blog when I was asked to be a Guest Designer!

Bethany: What inspires you to scrapbook?
Leslie: I have been making scrapbooks since I was a teenager. Those were done with images cut from magazines as well as photos, paired with poems or sayings. I am inspired by beautiful images which now translates to photos & also wonderful product. I love capturing the everyday as well as the more traditional events, travels, and milestones of life. Sending a legacy of memories into the future is exciting!

Bethany: Give a shout out to your personal favorite kit club company!
Leslie: I have been subscribing monthly to the Jenni Bowlin Magpie Box ( http://www.jbsmercantile.com ) which has loosely themed vintage ephemera & dimensional objects. It’s an unconventional source of scrapbooking material, I will say that! I have just started a subscription to Felicity Jane ( http://felicityjane.com/collections/kits ) but I haven’t even opened the box with my first kit yet.

Bethany: Do you have a favorite supply or technique?
Leslie: I adore patterned paper! I love to fussy-cut so the two go hand in hand. I would love to delve into messy wet techniques but so far have barely gotten my feet wet.

Bethany: Other than paper crafts, what other crafty or creative things do you like to do?
Leslie: I am also a quilter, a photographer, and a writer.

Bethany: Time to dish! What is something that our readers would never in a million years guess about you?
Leslie: We didn’t have a television for six years, until 9-11.

Bethany:  How did you hear about Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog?  How long have you been playing along with us?
Julene : I’ve been a follower of Mandysea from Tasmania and followed her lead.My first kit for CKC was November 2012.
Bethany: What inspires you to scrapbook?
Julene: Usually my photos although I do many challenges and sometimes this becomes my starting point.
Bethany:  Give a shout out to your personal favorite kit club company!
Julene: I don’t follow kit companies. (Kit clubs aren’t big in Australia) If I had to choose a brand I love it would be 7 gypsies.
Bethany:  Do you have a favorite supply or technique?
Julene: My scrapbooking teacher called me the shaker box queen, I love doing them and they often appear on my cards or layouts.
Bethany:  Other than paper crafts, what other crafty or creative things do you like to do?
Julene: I used to knit, sew, embroider, tapestry and patchwork. Arthritis in my hands has led me to papercrafts instead. I’ve always been crafty. I also like cooking.
Bethany:  Time to dish!  What is something about that our readers would never in a million years guess about you?
Julene: I used to do community service work through Rotary & Lions clubs. I once organised a senior citizens concert single-handedly for over 400 people.
