for·ger·y
ˈfôrjərē/
noun
  1. the action of forging or producing a copy of a document, signature, banknote, or work of art.

Welcome to "Forgeries on the Fourth" where it is no crime to create your own version of the trendy, hip products from the inspiration kit using your own stash and ingenuity.  Each month on the fourth, check out tutorials from your Master Forgers or links to resources they have found for you on the internet.

In keeping with the neutral tone of the inspiration kit, a link to these free printable birch bark tags.

LesleyG has created a fair few forgeries this month including:

 but there may be more!

Lisa found several links to some great bags such as this one in German which perfectly matches the original kit (!) and this one here.   In fact, she tried that second one using a full sheet of scrapbook paper and then went on to make her own template and ran up two others. You can find out more on her blog.

And she had another go at the print and cut feature on her Silhouette Cameo to make some vellum die-cuts. Again, with limited success but the few that came out right are super cute!

What about some dotty kraft paper?
Easy-peasy!

We would love to see anything that our members create using the tutorials we've found - and, even more so, if you counterfeit something from scratch. Please do share with us by adding a link to our monthly Mr. Linky!

  1. If I just wish to post a photo of a card or scrapbook page I have done using my kit but don't have a blog to share it on, is there another way I can show it?

    2. Thanks Isbaha - yes justasiam, we have a flickr group too where you can share and then link up. You can find it at: https://www.flickr.com/groups/2160796@N24/
We don't have a FB group (yet) but we are on Instagram. If you post then use the #counterfeitkitchallenge and let us know that you posted!

    4. I confess I don't know a lot about Flickr, but will have to figure it out. Also, another question.I make up my own kits each time depending on what I want to use up. Thus, I don't necessarily follow the current kit inspiration. Can I still post photos or do they need to be related to a CKC inspired kit? Get what I mean?

    5. @justasiam - we love that you make up kits according to what you have. And we love having new followers join our happy community. But we do hope that the kits we use to inspire us, the kits we make up to inspire our followers and the projects we make with out kits will encourage our followers to use their own stash to take our inspiration, run with that and share the results. Why not give it a go - take some aspect of our inspiration kit and see where it takes you when putting together your own kit? Our challenge site offers encouragement to make kits and projects using the inspiration we offer, rather than only sharing kits made up from our stash. I hope you understand :-)
