The 12 Days of Christmas | Twelve Drummers Drumming

Susanne here today with my Christmas project.  Maybe it will inspire you a little bit during this festive season.

Earlier this year, I reviewed my Christmas albums looking for gaps.  It reacquainted me with our holiday traditions and activities through years.  When presented with this challenge,  I chose the 12 Drummers Drumming verse – and have adapted it to scrap highlights of our Christmases past -- making a list of 12 Christmas joys that make my heart beat a little louder and a little faster.  I first thought I would stick to 12 photos, but I came across more than that I wanted to include, so I used several collages. These photos, in 12 different pockets, span the last 8 or so years.

I started with the leftovers of SEI’s Berry Melody line from a layout kit I had used for a couple layouts earlier this year.  To it, I added odds and ends from my Christmas stash to make this project kit.  I thought this was being restrained but it turned out I still overdid it.  And yet, I reached into my stash for some small word stickers, silver thread and different buttons.

I also decided to use the 9 square page-protectors because I have an oversupply of those on hand as well.

These pages will go into my next Christmas album as starter pages - a little review of what came before.  I am toying with the idea of doing something similar for this year, perhaps 25 single square photos.  It would not be in December daily style, just my favorite photos of the season.

Here is my list of 12 pah, rum. . pum, pum, pummm . . . Christmas joys.

1. Faith in the reason for the season
2. Family gatherings
3. Decking the halls
4. Hallmark ornaments
5. Gift wrapping
6. Exchanging gifts
7. Fun & games at Sister’s
8. Engineer’s train under P & G’s tree
9. Annual poinsettias & crystal gifts
10. Crazy Christmas hats
11. Christmas morning stockings
12. Big meals and afternoon naps

That is all from me.  Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays to you all.  Make 'em Scrappy Happy Holidays!
