November 2018 - Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit reveal and blog hop

I'm so very happy to welcome you to my favourite month of the year!

Welcome to November and to our last regular counterfeiting month of the year - we always shake things up in December with something special for Christmas so watch this space. We'll be sneaking peeks later in the month.

I know that most people don't agree with my views on November but since I changed my attitude some years ago, it really has become a wonderful transition month. AND it's my birthday month (as well as several other members of my family including a new little one who we are expecting to arrive in the next four weeks at some point!) so you just know that I'm all about the celebrating at this time of year :-)

So... how are we marking this month which connects autumn to winter and all that Christmas stuff?

Well, I fell in love with this gorgeous kit from Citrus Twist Kits (October 2018) - "Little Things". Isn't it just beautiful? I thought that the mix of fresh colours was just what we needed at the end of a long, hot summer when we might still have some memories to capture before we fall head first into red, green and gold merrimas!
You can find out all about this stunning kit at the Citrus Twist Kits site here and you'll also find lots of detail shots as well as Pocket Life and Gracebox kits if you need even more awesome inspiration.

I see lots of scrumminess in terms of colour and embellishments that you might find in your own stash so go shopping and have fun. Of course, there'll be oodles of fantastic kits in the Guest Designer and Master Forgers' reveal blog hop today as well as extra inspiration in the coming days here on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge. You can find the full blog hop as well as the calendar for this month at the end of the post so make sure you keep coming back!

But first, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to Alex - Pink Crafty Mama - who is our wonderful Guest Designer this month.

This girl is awesome and I was so happy when she agreed to join us in November. Check out her blog for crafty inspiration and she's funny to boot! I always find myself smiling whenever I spend some time over there. Her kits are fabulously big and she uses them like a boss!

I'll let her introduce herself below:

A crafty hello from "Down Under"!

I'm Alex from Melbourne, Australia, but you may know me on socials as Pink Crafty Mama. I'm married to Andrew aka NotPinkCraftyHubster and we're on the wild ride that is parenting a teenage SmallCraftyDude (Max). We're faithful subjects to two cats (although I could do with a few more!)

I've always liked various arts and crafts as a child, but the start of "grown up" crafting is a bit harder to pinpoint. Maybe making cards when we needed them? Then in 2004-2005 I naturally wanted to start scrapbooking.  I had a brand new TinyCraftyDude and he made a great subject. It didn't last, however. There was something missing, but I just didn't know what. (let's be real, supplies weren't that exciting back then especially in Australia!). A few years later I was first introduced to Stampin' Up! and "proper" cardmaking. I still make cards today and still use SU, along with just about every other manufacturer!

Fast forward to 2012 and I happened upon a video by Glitter Girl 😉 while browsing YouTube and I had an epiphany. I'm talking flashing lightbulbs and trumpet fanfares. It was journalling and telling the story! Wow, what a difference! I don't mean the story is always the first thing that inspires the beginning of a layout - it can be the photos or even product, but the story is critical!

So how did I get mixed up in this Counterfeiting business? To tell you the truth, I haven't the faintest idea! I feel as though I've been playing along for years, but I think the earliest blog post was maybe last November? And I only discovered the Facebook Group this year and met my match and partner-in-crime when it comes to huge kits!

  2. I've been afraid to look all day because I thought I would get overwhelmed. So far so good but I still need to do the blog hop. I used a lot more of my October kit than I initially thought, so that's also good. With Alex as GD for November, I'm sure we are going to be razzled and dazzled! Bring it on, Alex, and the Master Forgers!!!
