July 2020 - Challenge #1, 'Black With One' or 'White With One'

Hello lovelies! It's time for our first challenge of the month and today, it's a colour challenge. I'd like you to use either black, or white, with one other main colour. Use those kit neutrals with a little added colour, either from your kit (if you included some colour) or from your stash (there's no shame in adding to your kit every now and then!)

Let's see what our Masters Forgers and GDT, Jess Claire, created shall we?

Jess Claire has been on a serious scrapping mission with her kit this month - and I seriously love her layout for this challenge. Jess chose white as her main base and combined it with a beautiful, soft turquoise, which is just lovely for summer and looks amazing with her cute selfie.

Remember to visit Jess's Instagram (@jess.claire.creates) to see more of her kit and cute layouts!

MF Julene has used cream as her extra colour. She started with a white background then added dots (see her addition to the Forgeries on the Fourth) and an add on paper from an old encyclopedia. Then she added a lace star. Otherwise, it's all neutrals. How cute is that star?

MF Cindy used pink as her extra color and, whilst she started with a single page layout, she found she had enough scraps to turn it into a double page layout! Result! You can find more details on Cindy's Blog.

MF Lisa based her layout on the creams in her kit and, concentrating on the soft pink tones in one of the BasicGrey papers, she selected other pink items from the kit as her extra colour. A neutral grey background as well as a little gold (does this constitute cheating?!?) and this layout came together relatively easily! Is the puppy spam too much already ;-)

She promises that there will be a little journalling added to this layout before it heads into an album ;-)

Don't forget that we'll be back throughout the month to give you some tips, ideas and challenges as you put together and use your kit.

Here's what we have coming up this month:
  • July 18th: We'll give you two challenges to help you use the kit you've made.
  • July 24th: I'll be showcasing one of the CKC community who's caught my eye this month.
We always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. You can use our Monthly Link-up page, post them in our Facebook Community, or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcjuly2020).

Thanks so much for stopping by! We can't wait to see your kits and projects this month!
