May 2022 - Mini Kit & Projects Reveal

 Hello everyone!

Today we are showcasing our Mini Kit reveal and projects created with those kits. As a reminder, Master Forger Kate chose a kit from ScrapbookDoodle called Sweet Life featuring the Sweet Life Bo Bunny collection:

MF Juliet has a hard time with anything 'mini' so instead of thinking small amount she thought small pieces!  She made her 'mini' kit entirely out of scraps from her scrap bin! She even found a 12x12 that had a punched item out of it that worked AND a 12x12 piece that she seriously had no idea why it was in there but it worked perfectly! Here is her 'mini' kit:

She is excited to see how many layouts she can still create JUST using these scraps and maybe an item or two around her room...LOL....here are two layouts she has already created! Both using those bigger pieces she found.

MF Lisa: I decided to focus on the navy and soft pink tones in the original kit - throwing in some yellow for good measure - as well as the die cuts and butterflies and picked out three papers from the Vicky Boutin Sweet Rush collection, a pack of Storyteller die cuts (again Vicky Boutin), a pack of started Carta Bella enamel dots and finished off with a Martha Stewart butterfly stamp set. A handful of paper butterflies and a selection of butterfly punches completed this small card kit.

Let's see if I can use up all the items in there and I have decided that cardstock, other stamp sets and ink are "free" items 😉

I've made two cards so far and as always, they are super easy and not the most creative! But I know they will be well-received! One is just to say hello or lift someone's spirits and the other is intended as a new home card - as in a "new chapter of life". I thought the open book image was quite a nice alternative to a traditional new home card!

No doubt I will make a few more cards and go to town with the butterfly stamps and then I'll be sure to share!

MF Cindy pulled inspiration from the polka dot paper with the various colors then pulled a smaller flower pattern. She matched this up with the orange and green paper. all of which are from the Park Lane - Flower Garden stack, Kraft cardstock and a few left over embellishments from Pink Fresh Studio along with a few die cuts from scrap paper.

Here is the page layout. The flower on the bottom of the paper were fussy cut then layered with the die cuts Pink Fresh embellishments.

Here is what the rest of the month has to offer.
  • 12th and 18th May: Challenge #1 and #2 to inspire you to get creating from your own kit.
  • 24th May: Followers Showcase - who has caught our eye this month
  • 28th May: Killing Kits - an idea or two focusing up the bits and pieces left in your own kit.
