September 2023 - Just The Gist Of It

Hello, everyone!

Today is the day where we try to help you get started when your not quite sure where to start with putting your own kit together. Sometimes it's pretty easy to put a kit together, but then there are times it's just not clicking!

So let's start with the inspiration kit for the month from {Not} Just for Boys kit club - April 2023 Main kit - "Aurora" Limitless Kit

Sometimes the easiest way to pull a kit together is to look at one element and work with that. I used the 49 & Market "ARToptions Viken" Ephemera Bits - 73 pieces - for my color inspiration for my papers comparing the colors to the color of the bits.

You can go so many ways with this with the colors, florals, frames, neutrals, text and then the shapes with a nod to watercolor too.

Just in this picture you got wood pattern, frames, florals watercolor and shapes.

So when you're stuck and not sure where to go try just one piece of the kit and build off that. And of course, don't forget that we'll be back throughout the month to give you some tips, ideas and challenges as you put together and use your kit.

September is going to look something like this:

  • 4th September: Forgery on the Fourth - Master Forgers share simple ideas for creating kit elements
  • 6th September: Mini-kit Reveal and Project Showcase - inspiration for a smaller kit or project idea
  • 12th & 18th September: Challenges #1 & #2 - to inspire you to get creating from your own kit
  • 24th September: Follower Showcase - who has caught our eye this month
  • 30th September: Killing Kits - an idea or two for using up the bits & pieces left in your kit box

We always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. Post them in our Facebook Community, or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcseptember2023).

Thanks so much for stopping by! We can't wait to see your kits and projects this month!
