{inter}National Scrapbook Day - Saturday 4th May 2019

Oh boy! We are excited to be here today on
{inter}National Scrapbook Day
and although this might be an unusual time of day for us to be posting, I hope you're having fun this scrappy-filled day and are enjoying all the creative inspiration that can be found online today.

We are so happy that you're here and hope that you enjoy this extra inspiration we are bringing you on this special day for the scrapbooking community. Don't forget to share and join in with kits, layouts and makes!

We are thrilled today to be in collaboration with the
who can be found on the link below the photo here. It's also a private Facebook Community and its focus is most definitely using up your beloved scrapbook stash and being part of a warm, welcoming, happy, sharing community.

That sounds familiar! Don't we always say that about The Counterfeit Kit Challenge community?!?

We thought it was a perfect complement to CKC and are excited to be joining them today to share the scrapbook stash love.

Bash Your Scrapbook Stash on Facebook here

The Bash Your Scrapbook Stash group presents monthly and weekly challenges of a different nature to encourage their members to use their stash with specific items, techniques or tools to create scrapbook layouts, projects, cards, tags or even embellishments.

A short time ago today, our darling MF Leslie was on FB Live in the BYSS community presenting an extra, exclusive, just-for-iNSD-at-BYSS kit and a sketch challenge. If you head over to the community, you can find the replay and see what she has to say about kit making and her take on the kit.

But of course, we wanted to share the kit and our own creations with you here on our own blog too as our own {inter}National Scrapbook Day celebrations!

We picked out the June 2018 Studio Calico kit, "Expedition" and hope that you love it as much as we do! It's got some constellations (who might love that I wonder?!?), some travel items, a bunch of pretties and some lovely colours so what's not to love?

Studio Calico describe it as "Set out on an adventure – the world is yours to explore! You’ll have everything you need to record your travels when you return home. We’ve combined bright colors, organic elements, and an outdoorsy, vintage vibe for a look that will have you dreaming of your next “Expedition"".

That sounds like my kind of kit and the consensus among the team was that it was a winner!

But that's not all! We also have an EXCLUSIVE {inter}National Scrapbook Day sketch for you today, created by our wonderful  MF Susan. It's got so much to love with the full page design, the space for lots of journalling, the showcase photo and the oodles of room for interpretation.

Sketch credit: Master Forger Susan

This is the original page she made from which she made the sketch so I'm super curious to see the different interpretations on this design:

The ladies over at Bash Your Scrapbook Stash will also be offering two exclusive to their membership challenges so if you want more more more, then I recommend you head over there and join in the stash bashing activities!

And now I'd like to share with you what our team of talented Master Forgers have created with this exclusive {inter}National Scrapbook Day inspiration!

Susan pulled some 6x6 papers for her mini kit, basing her choices on the colors in the inspiration kit.

Then she turned her sketch upside-down, repositioned some of the elements, and translated it all to 12x12 to make this layout:

You can read all about her process on her blog here.

Julene put together this mini kit.

and with that mini kit she created this page with hand cut vellum circles.

The full details can be seen on her blog.

Cindy put together this kit along with a the DIY stripe paper, the details can be found here.

Lisa had stars in her eyes, promptly falling in love with the constellation paper in the original kit. Surprised? Not really! Therefore she built her own kit around a constellation designed paper by Crate Paper and then added in a few more papers that were inspired by the designs of the original and matched the starting paper colour wise.

The kit came together really easily from there and she goes through her process over on her blog.

There are two forgeries in her kit - the quote paper and the labels. Again, you can find more details over on her blog but they are super easy to make. As you can see, she designed the quote paper in Photoshop and then printed it out onto a simple paper which was cut down to 8.5" long (she only has a standard size printer. It's pretty close to the original!

The second forgery - the pile of labels - were fussy cut from sheets downloaded from the internet and printed out on heavy duty printer paper. That's a whole bunch of labels which will be so useful on this and many other kits.

She used the download on Kaitlin Staffer's blog here http://kaitlinsheaffer.com - go to the downloads page for a full array of fabulous labels in different colours. There are also may different downloads on Pinterest - just search for "printable labels" and be astounded at the results!

And even though she hasn't used Susan's wonderful sketch so far, the day is young so you never know!

Instead, she created this relatively simple page, inspired by that wonderful piece of constellation paper which triggered a long-forgotten memory! You can find out all the details relating to her kit, forgeries and this page over on her blog here.

Laura created this rather full kit based on the inspiration kit " I absolutely love the Studio Calico inspiration kit, and once i started pulling from my stash, i found it hard to stop! This kit is going to be good for so many layouts and i cannot wait to dig into it!"

Tina created a good size kit to play with this weekend, just fell in love with the inspiration kit and found some fun things in here stash for the kit:

and the layout she created using the sketch.

Leslie curated this kit which include a few forgeries - the large alphas, the "Shine" paper, and a Project Life card that imitates the ledger paper.

Her page is a 12x12" take on SuSan's sketch. Read more about it at her blog (link below) where she also shows some other paper combos she put together with alternate paper choices (that she forgot to show in the Facebook Live presentation over at BYSS.)
