May 2019 - Forgery on the... Third?

We are a day early for a great reason - [inter]National Scrapbooking Day is tomorrow!
There will be a little bit of extra fun so don't miss celebrating at CKC.

May's inspiration kit:

My Creative Scrapbook March Main kit

Based on the Pebbles/Jen Hadfield "Chasing Adventures" collection that colorfully celebrates being active & adventurous. Bright florals, cute pocket cards, travel themes like airplanes & luggage and lots of fun things happening to the cast of characters. The collection includes a llama patterned paper if you have any lingering in your stash!

This is another kit where I expect to see some stamping used & maybe some fussy-cut elements.

Our team of Master Forgers has a few tips & tricks below to help you with your kit.

Our Guest Designer, Leanne Wagner, had some fun playing with paper dolls!

Blog post HERE

Master Forger Lisa found some interesting Pinterest finds for printables and other ideas which were inspired by the items in the original kit:

This post features matchbox covers which are printable and look like tiny suitcases - if, like me, you'd be fussy cutting those cute cases out of the "Ready Set Go" paper anyway, then this could be a great alternative!

And while this post is in Japanese of which I don't speak a single word(!!), I think you can still work out how to download and make up the fabulous suitcase notecards. You could create a 3d display with these or use them in an interesting add on for your own kit.

Free Pretty Ideas For You has a great set of free flamingo print papers that are downloadable here: https://www.freeprettythingsforyou.com/2016/06/flamingo-digital-paper/

And Mein Lila Park has a cute lady flamingo to print too! : http://meinlilapark.blogspot.com/2017/05/free-digital-flamingo-scrapbooking.html

If you're lucky enough to have a Cameo Silhouette or other electronic die-cutting machine, you might want to have a look around for free cut files. I tracked a few down with travel or adventure themes:

SVG & Me has this cool "Adventure Awaits" SVG file here:

Love SVG features this cute airplane element with matching phrase:

Master Forger Laura included lots of washi tape in her kit this month, and put it to use making a colourful striped paper, similar to that in the paper collection. She even realised she had a llama print washi, so that went onto the paper!

She also went a little bit old school, and used scraps to make some palm tree layered embellishments

And not wanting to waste any of those scraps, she used the left overs from her palm trees and some punches to punch out some extra little embellishments. Impressive, Laura!

Master Forger Cindy used a die set and stamps to make a few forgeries this month.
