February 2020 - Just the Gist of It

Welcome back to our February kit . Here's where we offer some help if your having problems knowing where to start.

I chose this kit as it was something different to the pinks and mint we so often feature.

I had noticed darker colours being left by the wayside and needed to use some of those for a change.

If you have no navy or maroon you could substitute bottle green, dark grey or perhaps deep purple.

The patterns in this kit reminded me of liberty prints and grandmas floral dresses.

I liked the flowers (and bees) in this kit.

My pinterest board may help

So the motifs in the kit are

*midnight blues, plums, maroon and burgundy/wine colours
* "granny" florals with darker backgrounds
*bees, flowers, vines,butterflies
*pretty mandala shaped wood veneers
*doileys

I hope you've been inspired today and we can't wait to see which direction this takes you.

Just a reminder that we'll be back throughout the month to give you some tips, ideas and challenges as you put together and use your kit.

Here's what we have coming up this month:

  • February 4th:  We'll have our "Forgery on the Fourth" post where the Master Forgers will reveal how they created their own version of some of the items in this month's kit.
  • February 6th:  We'll reveal a couple of mini-kits and projects, in case you're a little limited for time this month and would prefer a more petite kit.
  • February 12th and 18th:  We'll give you two challenges to help you use the kit you've made.
  • February 24th:  I'll be showcasing one of the CKC community who's caught my eye this month
  • February 28th: We'll be offering another installment in our {Killing Kits} series to help you find ways to use up all of your kit.

We always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us.

You can use our Monthly Link-up page, post them in our Facebook Community, or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcfebruary2020).

Thanks so much for stopping by! We can't wait to see your kits and projects this month!
