April 2020 - Counterfeit Kit Challenge Kit Reveal & Blog Hop

Hello Counterfeiters. I'm so excited to be our host for April. I had a lot of fun choosing our inspiration kit for the month and I hope that you'll find it inspiring while we're all stuck at home.

Our inspiration kits for this month are the Cocoa Daisy, Orchard Path Kits. Cocoa Daisy have a wide selection available to suit most crafters - with a Pocket Kit, Travellers Notebook Kit, Planner Kit and lots and lots of extras.

I think the kit, with it's lovely soft colours and nature themed embellishments is the perfect embodiment of spring, but I also love that there are a few darker colours scattered throughout the kits - which makes it a versatile kit for counterfeiting. Go your own way!

To help us on our way with our kits this month, I'm so happy to introduce one of my favourite scrapbookers, the lovely Mel Davis, as our Guest Designer for the month. You can find Mel over on Instagram, where she has a dedicated scrapbooking feed - @meldavis.nz

Hi, I'm Mel. I live in Auckland, New Zealand and have been scrapbooking on and off for 19 years. Even though I've subscribed to multiple kit clubs over the years, I don't tend to scrap from kits and, after feeling guilty about them for a few months, break them up and put them into my stash. Making my own kit was definitely a challenge but after getting the wonderful tip from Shannon's February video to make a list from the inspiration kit, it came together really well. I hope you enjoy seeing what I have created to share with you this month.

Pop on over to Mel's Instagram feed (and make sure that you follow her, so that you can see what she creates with her kit this month) then head back here to follow the rest of this month's blog hop!

Here's what we have coming up this month:
  • April 2nd: I'll be back with a "Just the Gist" post to help jump-start your kit-making.
  • April 4th: We'll have our "Forgery on the Fourth" post where the Master Forgers will reveal how they created their own version of some of the items in this month's kit.
  • April 6th: We'll reveal a couple of mini-kits and projects, in case you're a little limited for time this month and would prefer a more petite kit.
  • April 12th & 18th: We'll give you two challenges to help you use the kit you've made.
  • April 24th: I'll be showcasing one of the CKC community who's caught my eye this month
  • April 30th: We'll be offering another instalment in our Killing Kits Series to help you find ways to use up all of your kit.
We always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. You can use our Monthly Link-up page, post them in our Facebook Community, or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcapril2020).

Thanks so much for stopping by! We can't wait to see your kits and projects this month!
