October 2020 - Killing Kits

Hello fellow counterfeiters it is Tracey here with the last post for October, today I am showcasing how I killed my October Counterfeit Kit inspired by the September Best of Both Worlds Kit by Shimelle Laine. Here is a reminder of what it looks like.

I started off with these scraps of patterned paper,

and a rainbow cut file that I cut out on a 12x12 white cardstock sheet and I traced the cutout pieces from the scraps of patterned paper.

I then adhered them to the cut out spaces in the cardstock.

Next I used some of the remaining left over patterned papers to mat the photos.

From the left over cut-apart sheets I fussy cut the spin dial to use as an embellishment and "Family Fun" as a title.

Here is my final layout and how it cam together using my scraps.

Another way to use up the final pieces in your kit is to cut any remain scraps into strips or to use the product strip that comes on the bottom of most 12x12 sheets of patterned paper. In this layout I will show you how to use them up.

I had this 12x12 full sheet left of patterned paper, it was bit dark for other layouts I created this month and didn't seem to fit anything I was doing, so it remained in my kit. I decided that now was the time to use it so I applied a layer of White Gesso  to the centre to tone down the colours.

Once the gesso is dry simply layer the strips of patterned paper in a diamond shape. You will have to cut smaller section of the strips off so that they start small and get larger in the middle of the page, then smaller again as you get towards the bottom of the page.

Finish off with a title and journalling.
