Welcome to our first challenge here in February!
Herzstück kit from Scrapbook Werkstatt |
The name of our inspiration kit, Herzstück, can be translated along the lines of "the heart of something" and as this is the month of love and romance, let's take that as our inspiration. Make a project featuring something or someone that you think of as the "heart of it". Of course, you might want to interpret this prompt as featuring hearts on your layout and everything goes round here!
So, show
us your very own "Herzstück"!
Guest Designer Eileen told me:
"This is my Jack Russell dog – “Jet”. He is the Heart of our home and so for this challenge I thought it would be nice to create a layout dedicated to him. I chose a light grey wood grain paper as the base. I matted the photos in red to give some colour and allow the photos to stand out. I stamped paw prints around the edge of the page using an acrylic stamp and added punched out hearts made from the spare cardstock and then added a homemade embellishment. Last was the title from the letter stickers and his name from the same red cardstock using mini alphabet letter dies. A simple layout, but I am pleased with how it turned out."
MF Julene has made a layout about a dear neighbour and friend who was there when Julene's daughter was a baby. Her friend gave so much help and love at that time. She was at the heart of it.
MF Lisa is currently doing LOAD221 (LayOutADay) and has decided to make it "28 Days of Mabel" 😂. Therefore, it was clear this this challenge was going to feature the infamous beagle herself! She really has become the heart of her little family.
You can find out more over on her blog here |
MF Tina used lots of hearts from her kit for this challenge as there is one that has her heart
MF Tracey used the word heart as inspiration and created this layout about her daughters, who are always in the heart of it. She used the off cut scraps from the hearts she cut from a metal die as an element to her page (along the left-hand side of her photo) to really make her kit go a long way.
MF Leslie, from a prompt from LayoutADay challenge, used this catalog cover for page design inspiration: neutral-ish background, black & white central image, pops of color on the left plus sentiments. The heart of the matter for me is my faith in Jesus Christ!
There's plenty to keep you inspired this month so don't forget to come back here regularly for ideas and challenges. The month is going to look like this:
· 18th February: Challenges #1 & #2 - to inspire you to get creating from your own kit
· 24th February: Follower Showcase - who has caught our eye this month
· 27th February: Killing Kits - An idea or two for using up the bits & pieces left in your kit box
We always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. You can post them in our Facebook Community, or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcfebruary2021).
