April 2021 - Challenge #1 - Al Fresco

 Welcome to the first CKC April challenge! It's great to have you here & ready to use that kit of yours along with us. Here's a reminder of our inspiration kit:

I think we are all looking forward to being able to enjoy being out & about! What are you looking forward to? Dining at a favorite food spot? Movie night in the park? Gathering with neighbors/family for fun?

 

Now that I have you in a playful mood how about using some whimsy on your page by layering your patterned papers to fashion your own background with scenery & puffy clouds?  Your kit has already taken the work out of coordinating the products, so feel free to mix & match those patterns. And if that’s a little too overwhelming? Just layer them up behind your photo(s)!

 

Guest Designer Cathy says:  When I read the challenge, my mind zoomed in on two words: whimsy and clouds. Whimsy perfectly describes the "Hey Hello Sentiment Strips" paper. I also liked the idea of clouds with my whimsy so I grabbed a cloud stencil and Nuvo Sea Sprite Glacier Paste. I used the same stencil to trace some clouds on my scrap of pink paper and cut them out adding foam tape to give them some dimension. The photo is matted with more "Hey Hello" scraps. Just added some random flowers and die cuts from my kit, and then I decided I needed more yellow so I went back to my stash for the yellow pompom trim. I think it added just a bit more whimsy as well!

 

 

Master Forger Cindy has used a Cricut Cartridge for the start of her layout and layering on different pattern papers.
