October 2021 - Mini Kit Reveal and Projects

 Hello everyone.

Master Forgers Laura & Lisa is sharing her take on the mini kits using our inspiration Kit of the month, the May Hip Kit Club kit. Mini kits are great if you want quick projects, or if ideas are sparked by just small bits of the inspiration. Whatever your reasons for approaching mini kits our Master Forger is here to help get you creating.

As a reminder, Master Forger Tracey chose the May 2021 Hip Kit Club kit as our inspiration for this month.

So lets see where Laura went with her mini kit and projects.

Master Forger Laura has a cute little kit this month!

She has this to say about her kit:

For my mini kit this month I chose some off cuts from some 12x12 papers, some gold glitter alphas to go with my forgery of the gold glitter hearts and half a Maggie Holmes sticker sheet that needs using up!

I love to use scraps and see how many smaller off cuts of paper i can use up, so this mini kit is perfect for me.

I am currently waiting for my photo order to arrive, so in the meantime I had a go at making a card! I am not by any stretch of the imagination a card maker, but I wanted to try and i was quite pleased with the result.

MF Lisa brought together some papers that reminded her of the original kit as well as one sheet which is featured in the Hip Kit Club kit. Then she brought in some elements inspired by the main kit in the form of stamps and dies - maps, rainbows etc and some alphas and embellishments which were in pastel colours and summery motifs. She then decided to use these supplies to make up some quick and easy cards.

She had some fun with stamping - which she hardly ever does due to lack of stamping talent! - and die cutting a bunch of cute shapes!

These cards were the result of an hour or so of creativity and the rest of the supplies will be kept together to create some more cards which she will share at a later date 😉 The first card below was inspired by Heidi Swapp's recent stamping extravaganzas which are so fantastic. My own version hasn't exactly turned out that well but it will be fun to send to a friend who is planning to visit me at the end of the year - hence the Germany die-cut element 😉

The other three cards will just be added into my supplies to send out as and when needed. I adore these rainbows and the super cute and tiny banners - more cards will follow for sure!

The rest of October is going to look something like this:

  • 12th & 18th October: Challenges #1 & #2 - to inspire you to get creating from your own kit
  • 24th October: Follower Showcase - who has caught our eye this month
  • 31st October: Killing Kits - an idea or two for using up the bits & pieces left in your kit box

You KNOW that we always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. You can post them in our Facebook Community, or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcoctober2021).

Thanks so much for stopping by! We can't wait to see your kits and projects this month!

Hugs

Tracey
