Welcome back to CKC. Today we look at Challenge #2.
I love using up leftover bits and pieces on my layouts.
So today I'm asking you to use leftover numbers as part of your background.
They can be from sets of alphas or elsewhere. Maybe you actually have paper with numbers on it.
You can use paints etc to match it to the kit colours if you need to. Be creative!
As a reminder, here's the kit again.
Let's see what our team have come up with.

Used here number thickers and some distress oxide spray and created a mixed media number background for her layout

I used numbers from the little plastic font I had put in my kit. They are actually dimensional so I really enjoy the texture they add to the layout. I just pulled random numbers off the set and stuck them under the "rays" coming out from the pic. I used the same numbers at the top to show the year as well. I really love how this turned out and I was so pleased to use up some of these numbers!
I will admit, I struggled a little with this one! I actually use the majority of my number alphas for dates on layouts, so I didn’t want to go there, I didn’t have any number papers in my kit either. I also don’t own a number stencil… what was I going to do?! I remembered I had this old set of alpha/numeric stamps I used for a DIY project for my wedding, so I dug those out and created a cute ABC/123 background in my kit colors for this photo of my son showing an interest in learning all about the alphabet!
We have completed our challenges for the month but still to come up this month we have
- May 24th: Followers showcase
- May 30th: Killing the kit
Come back then to see more ideas for using your kit.
You know that we always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. You can post them in our Facebook Community or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcmay2023).
