May 2023 - Challenge #1 - Black and white heritage layouts

Throughout the month we have 2 challenges to extend your ideas further.

Here's the kit again just to remind you.

Our first challenge is Use an old black and white photo and make a heritage layout.

Here's what the Guest Designer Sheryl plus our Master Forgers Julene, Tara, Anna, Cindy have done.

Sheryl our Guest Designer has done a layout about her Great Grandparents.

Master Forger Julene has scrapped a photo from 1966 of her cousin's wedding.

Master Forger Cindy has scrapped a couple of photos of her Grandmothers. One is from Christmas and one from Easter.  I am unsure of the year as these are photo I received when Mom passed.

Master Forger Leslie crafted this tribute to her great great grandparents on her dad's side. The photos are copies of the original "cabinet card" photos back in the day, which include the back sides. The title alphas are gold & gems were added to the flower centers & at Eliza Jane's collar. The background paper is from the vintage BasicGrey's Clippings collection.

Master Forger Tara pulled out a very old photo of her Great Grandma, Great Aunt Gin, and Grandma on Easter Sunday in 1939. Her grandma would have been around 7 years old at the time.  Great Grandma made their dresses and are posing by their car.

Master Forger Anna created a 6x8 layout using a photo of her father's grandfather.

She is still waiting on the details from her dad to fill in the journal spot. She didn't want to use the original photo so she took a photo with her phone of both the front AND the back (with his original handwriting!) and was able to print them using the Canon Selphy printer. Isn't technology so cool when it allows us to include both the front AND the back of an old photograph?

You know that we always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. You can post them in our Facebook Community or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcmay2023).
