Welcome back to Flashback Month. Here's a reminder of our kit which, hopefully by now, you have created your own version.
Now for our 3rd Challenge.
Here is a layout I did back in 2014 when we had the original kit
Appropriately the title is "This place makes me so happy." For this challenge I want you to scraplift it. In case you're curious we were looking around Vancouver.
The Design Team have created some ideas for you.
Master forger Cindy
I pulled in this paper from DCWV "Taja Mahal" from 2009. I thought the circle design was a good representation of Julene's paper. I also had no ideas of the photos I would scrap when I pulled my kit together. I found a few pictures of Derek helping out when we were shoveling snow. I thought the circles made excellent snowflakes.
I did not use any of the embellishments that I included in my kit. I added a few things when it came time make my layout, Dark Blue, white, orange and red cardstock, 3 snowflake punches, alpine snowflake, crystal and large Fiskars snowflake punch, I am using the Martha Stewart Cherish border punch.
I matted the paper with the dark blue cardstock along with the photos. My photos are a different size than Julene's 1 4x6 and 2 4x4. I added the punched border to the bottom of my 4x6 photo and the top of the page. I found a mitten ephemera and added that to the circle. The snowflakes are punched in the orange, red and white cardstock. I love how this layout turned out.
I kept close to the basic structure of the lift, but I was able to add more photos by replacing two 4x6 pics with four 3x4 pics.

I used the same structure as the original layout as it worked perfectly with these 20+ year old photos. I also loved the "happy" so made sure to use that in my little title under the right side photo. I also loved using the chalkboard elements on this one!
Now it is your turn. Make sure you add it to Facebook in the appropriate post.
Here's what is upcoming for the rest of this month.
- July 24th Followers showcase
- July 28th August sneak peek
- July 30th Baby use those scraps!
Make sure you pop back here to see what is happening. That's all for now.
