I'm back again to look at the idea of making a mini kit. First a reminder of this month's kit.
Noel Mignon Balboa.
It's mid-summer there in USA and some of you will be heading out on holidays. If you don't have time for a full kit maybe you could do a mini kit.
It can be as small as you like. Traditionally with CKC it used to be 2 or 3 papers and some embellishments that go with it. Enough to create a page or two, or some kind of mini project. As an example, I found this from an old mini kit of mine. I chose black papers plus a bright floral and a neutral. (You can do similar from your kit) Use the recipe one dark, one light, one colourful.
Next, I found a few embellishments to match
Pack them in a 12x12 bag and there's your mini kit! It can be taken away with you and made during your vacation.
For example, the above produced 2 layouts.
Master forger Tara
I created a mini kit-well, a not-so-mini-kit for most of you, but for me, it's definitely a mini version of what I normally curate each month! I always start with paper and so I went through my stash of papers and chose a bright Basic Grey collection. I had three pieces of patterned paper and a set of stickers in my stash. Then, I found papers from other Basic Grey collections that went with it and a few from other manufacturers. My next step was to add alphas and phrases. I really didn't add any other embellishments because I made a couple of forgeries, which you can view on the July 4th FoF blog post. Here's my full kit with a couple of close-up photos as well:
I used two sheets of my patterned paper and tore the edges to create a patterned border on the left hand side. The text pattern is the B side of the polka dotted paper. I cut a few stars out of the icon patterned paper, using both the A and B sides to cut them. I cut my title with my cameo and did some stenciling on my kraft background. I used a journaling block and a phrase from the sticker sheet.
I used lots of cardstock to create the splats with my Cameo!! I backed my white cardstock background with the star paper from my kit. I used one of the yellow frame stickers from my sticker set as a frame on my larger photo and matted all three photos onto one black mat.
