Welcome to December!
Every day one of our Master Forgers will take over the blog and share a quick and simple festive idea. It might be inspiration for a scrapbook page or project, some aspect of Christmas we'd like to draw your attention to, or just something to help make you smile in the days running up to Christmas Eve. I know you will love it as much as we have loved pulling it together for you!
So happy to have you join us for our
Counterfeit Kit Challenge Advent Calendar
as we "open the door" each day and share something seasonal with you.

That's a full 24 days of bite-sized daily Christmas inspiration.
In
keeping with the Advent Calendar theme I will share one that I made for
my daughters. It's an easy project that could be made with a 6x6" or
8x8" paper pad. Keep in mind that your size needs to accommodate
whatever you plan to fill the pockets with.
I used a seasonal collection to sew pockets for the advent goodies, each pocket simply decorated with a punched tag stamped with the day & a gold bow through the tag hole. A punched a hole in both top corners allowed me to string them onto a length of sisal twine.
Pockets
can be filled with candies, cocoa packets, tickets to an event, DVDs,
popcorn packets, or whatever fun things you can think of for your
targeted audience!
We hope you will continue to share your own crafty creations and ideas throughout December using the: Link-Up page here on the blogposting in the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Facebook Community Group or on Instagram (find us @counterfeitkitchallenge and our hashtag is #counterfeitkitchallenge)
Easy Peasy fun! Thinking of other small fun and inexpensive things to fill with. How about paper cut outs of the characters of the nativity scene? Just need the outline. Have kiddos draw in the face or features. Cut a small strip of paper. Notch twice. Two notches on the character. Bend the strip like the round part of a D and slip on to make it stand up. Depending how many animals you want, this could be at least 10 pockets. (add a small candy to each on to keep up the incentive) The 24th, I would have the manger. And on Christmas morning, before anything else. Present them with Baby Jesus to put in the manger and sing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus. How I miss having little people.
ReplyDeleteWhat an utterly marvelous idea. Miss ya, sista! XO

ReplyDeleteLovely idea,
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea - and a great way to use up some holiay paper!
ReplyDeletePretty pretty! And of course, I adore the papers you used here!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Leslie, for this idea! The layout style could be easily altered to make a terrific banner-style garlands (or even reversible for days after the 25th!)!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea, simple and straightforward, but oh so Christmasy!
