Welcome to
December!
So happy to
have you join us for our

as we "open the door" each day and share
something seasonal with you.
Hi! Julene here. Every year I make Christmas cards for charity. Here are some pointers I've discovered for getting yourself organised for Christmas crafting.
1.Put away the leftovers from recent pages & clean your surface areas.
2. Store scraps & remaining items in reusable bags.
3. Collect together your specialty Christmas papers and put in a pizza box or designated area.
4. Put all your Christmas embellishments/tags etc in another box or area.
5. Add left over alphas in Christmas colours.
6. If you need to make your cards from scratch do this in bulk before you commence decorating.
7. Use challenges to inspire you or search Pinterest for ideas.
Now here is today's idea:
Use buttons to make a tree.
Start by lightly drawing a triangle tree shape in pencil.
Collect buttons in 3 different colour choices, Christmas colours or otherwise.
Find a tiny star to top your tree. It can be a brad or even confetti style star.
Organise the trunk of your tree. I usually just use wood toned paper scraps.
Glue your buttons in place, starting at the top. Do larger buttons first if you have mixed sizes.
Keep going while glue is wet and stop when you are satisfied with the look of your tree.
Keep a baby wipe handy for mopping up spills.
Wait for glue to dry (overnight is best).
Place your ribbon, washi tape or sentiment underneath.
Here's my card using lime, white and pink buttons.
I used vellum as my background.
We hope you will continue to share your own crafty creations
and ideas throughout December using the: Link-Up page here on the blogposting in

Such a great idea! You can easily do other Christmas shapes like a star, snowman, gingerbread or even a candy cane. I guess I need to get out my buttons and play.
