October 2020 - Counterfeit Kit challenge Kit Reveal and Hop

Hello everyone, Master Forger Tracey here with you for the October Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Reveal and Blog Hop. Here in Australia it is just starting to get warm again, the spring flowers are popping up, bring lots of colour. Which is a bit different for most of you, heading into Fall/Autumn and seeing the Autumn/Fall leaves turn colour. With that in mind, I picked a kit that has both Fall and Spring colours in it and it is a kit that is a bit different from the ordinary month kit clubs. This kit is not sold specifically though a store or monthly club, it is a selection of products (shopping list) that a well know scrapper has put together. Which means you can go shopping to purchase the items individually or pull from your own supplies at home and put together as a kit. It is the Best of Both Worlds Kit by Shimelle Laine. If you want more of an explanation on how The Best of Both Worlds Kit works pop on over to Shimelle’s blog to see how she does it.

The kit I have chosen is September’s edition of The Best of Both Worlds by Shimelle Laine. The “shopping list” updates at the start of each month so if you go to the blog now you will see next month’s list (October) which is not the kit we are doing. So I have saved the September kits information for you and will place it all in this blog post below. I will post the link to The Best of Both Worlds Kit link at the very bottom of this post so that you can have a look at the live link but please remember that for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge this month we are using the September Kit and it is all highlighted here.

Please welcome Machelle Willing as the Guest Design Team Member for October.

Hello!  My name is Machelle and I am so happy to be here as the guest designer this month.  My husband, Scott, and I have been married for 21 years and live in Central Texas with our spoiled rotten two dogs and two cats.  I have been scrapbooking for about 20 years now and love all the different ways and sizes you can document your memories.  I also make cards and small home decor items with my supplies.  Recently, I have been learning more about digital scrapbooking as well.

I love the Counterfeit Kit Challenge because it gives you a great starting point for making kits and using what you already have.  The “just the gist of it” series is my favorite because it makes me look at my stash in a new way and gives me options I wouldn’t have thought about otherwise.  I look forward to sharing my ideas with you!

 Here is a wonderful double layout that Machelle has put together to showcase some of her work;

Now onto the Blog Hop, here is the Blog Hop list and reveal, enjoy hopping around and seeing what everyone has put together from the Best of Both Worlds September Kit.

We will be back throughout the month to give you some tips and trick, ideas and challenges as you put your kit together and to use.

Here’s what we have coming up this month
  • October 2nd: I’ll be back with a “Just the Gist” post to help you jump start your kit making.
  • October 4th: We will have our “Forgery on the Fourth” post where the Master Forgers will reveal how they created their own version of some of the items in this month’s kit.
  • October 6th: We will reveal the mini kits and projects in case you’re a little limited for time this month and would prefer a more petite kit.
  • October 12th and 18th: We will give you two challenges to help you use the kit you’ve made.
  • October 24th: I’ll be showcasing one of the CKC Community who’s caught my eye this month. Will it be you??
  • October 30th: Another Killing Kit Installment to help us finish off our kits!
We always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. You can use our Monthly Link-up page, post them in our Facebook Community, or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcoctober2020).

Thanks so much for stopping by and playing along! We can't wait to see your kits and projects this month!
