November 2021 - Just The Gist Of It

Sometimes it's hard to know where to begin when building your own kit using our inspiration kits and Just The Gist Of It aims to help! We offer one possible starting point to get you going. Please remember that there is no single way to build and create your own kits and whichever direction your kit goes, as long as you like it and get to showcase supplies that you love or want to use, it's all good! Go with the flow and your kit will be perfect!

Let's just remind ourself of the original inspiration kit from Felicity Jane - September 2021 Emily

Felicity Jane - September 2021 Emily

I often suggest you start with colour and definitely Felicity Jane kits have a strong and clear colour palette which can be easily identified as a way to go. This one is strong with the usual white background with a dash of black but matched up with several shades of olive and green, autumnal yellow and orange, a hint of pink and a splash of dark blue. What a gorgeous combination.

However today I was looking at the patterned paper designs and think that this could be a great kick-off to your kit.

Here is another photo of the papers and they are listed by Felicity Jane as:

              • floral & daisies
              • gingham & dot grid
              • grid & apple
              • ledger & chevron
              • eyelet lace & modern
              • honeycomb & leaves

Using this list and the image as guidelines when bringing together your own supplies, you could:

    • work your way through all 12 paper designs and find papers in your own stash that match

    • or just take one single double-sided paper, pick two sheets out that match that design and let that be the driving force for other papers

    • or how about taking just one side from each of the papers to pull out 6 main papers for your kit and head off from there?

In fact, as always, the sky's the limit on how to create you own Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit with this idea - but you know that already 😉

Once you have some papers picked out, reach for all the embellishments and alphas that YOU like to see in your own kits and you will have the perfect kit to motivate your month of November scrapping!

I hope this was helpful today and don't forget that we can't wait to see what direction you decide to take for your own selection of supplies!
