May 2022- Forgery on the Fourth

Here's a reminder of the inspiration Sweet Life  kit from Scrapbook Doodle which I think has lots of possibilities to make up your own elements!

Let's see what the Design Team has counterfeited!

MASTER FORGER KATE:

I don't normally have flowers and it seemed like the rest of the Design Team had those luscious golden flowers already! I decided to make some quick mixed media imperfect florals. All you need is a pencil,  paper, watercolors or acrylics and a black pen.

I loosely drew some simple flowers on my paper because I am not an artist, using a floral stamp as a loose guide:

And then I painted them in varying shades of yellow. I let them dry then loosely and imperfectly outlined them.  Last step, fussy cut them!!

MASTER FORGER JULENE :

I've forged some punched flowers.

Use your scallop circle punches to make some different sized flowers.

(These were made for Christmas, but same method applies)

I used music paper then painted in a pale green wash.

Next, I highlighted the edges with Liquid pearls in white. Layer them in order of size and join using a brad.

Curl up the petals to make them more 3D.

Place a white doiley underneath to make them stand out.

You could just as easily do these using yellow paint or mist and edge with navy or a darker gold.

Or even using yellow patterned papers in layers.

MASTER FORGER MISTY :

I'm here with lots and lots (and lots) of butterflies using a die and scraps of paper. I also took some of the ideas and proceeded with shapes other than butterflies! More info in this video or this blog post.
