February 2024 - Counterfeit Kit Challenge Inspiration Kit & Social Media Hop

Hi! Hello! Welcome! Master Forger Brandi here and I am SO excited to be running the show here on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog for the VERY.FIRST.TIME! Yay!

First off, I’d like to introduce our guest designer for the month, Jessica Mikels! Jessica is a fellow regular on the A Cherry on Top message boards and I am constantly impressed by her mixed media projects! Looking forward to seeing what she creates for us this month! You can follow her on her blog, Instagram and YouTube!

Meet Jessica Mikels!

Jessica is a mixed media paper crafter and dabbler of many other crafts. In this season of life, she especially enjoys scrapbooking, card making and art journaling. She likes to try every trend and technique at least once. She is a blessed mama and a wife to a man after God’s heart. Jessica also enjoys cooking, reading, writing, and hiking when she is not crafting. Her heart belongs to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to sweet and salty snacks. Follow her on Instagram, YouTube, and her blog to get inspiration, tips, and techniques for your own craft adventures!

And now the moment we’ve all been waiting for… our latest inspiration kit! I chose “November Rain” by Not Just for Boys Kit Club! I absolutely love everything Meridy and Paula put together monthly, so I knew that’s exactly where I was headed this month. Here is a photo of the main kit:

They also offer an add-on essentials kits, which is typically mixed media product and additional embellishments! You can also buy extra paper add-ons & more items ala carte on their site. Lots of inspiration to be had for building a stash kit as well!

Here's a sneak peak of our Guest Designer's kit:

Jessica says this about her kit:

“As a mixed media paper crafter, I was inspired by the blues, gold and naturally, all the mediums in the Essential Add-On Kit! When it came time to counterfeit the kit, it was easy to choose hues of blues from my collection of Distress Ink, Oxide and Distress Watercolor pencils after seeing the Distress Oxide in the kit. I added die cut tags, wood grain and striped pattern paper. Next, I pulled a plaid stencil by Vicki Boutin from the plaid pattern paper in the kit, also gold stencil butter, gold sequin and gold metallic cardstock. A last-minute grab was an elements stamp set from Stamperia.”

Come back on the 12th to see Jessica’s take on our Challenge #1 this month!

Don’t forget to check out how our talented team of Master Forgers built their kits this month!   I’ve linked everyone’s social media below, so go on, get out there and leave ‘em some love!
