August 2024 - Challenge #2 Black and Yellow Background

It's time for challenge #2. This month's Inspiration kit was full of contrast. I want you to create your own black and yellow background paper to use on a project.   I hope I see some mixed media!!!

Guest Designer - Sarah Rouault got a little messy with her background paper and I love it! Here is her project!

Sarah used washi tape and black paint to create her bright and bold stripes! Such a beautiful layout!

Now, let's see what our Master Forgers created:

Master Forger JoJo
JoJo created this background by using a yellow gold textured paste through a hexagon
stencil on a black cardstock paper. Then she applied 3 strips of washi tape and lots of
cute embellishments to show case her bee photos.

Master Forger Christine

Christine took a different turn and used stamps. She may have been a bit daintier than a full mixed media background, but made up for it by using some black and white papers on a yellow background.  Does her entry qualify??

Here's the full layout (peep the stamped bees in the upper left)

Here's a closer look at those adorable bees.

A shaker pocket made its way onto the page too!

Master Forger Tina

Used a yellow paper, stencil and some Black Soot distress ink  to create here background

From that created paper she created this layout

Now, let's see what we have lined up for the rest of this month:
