February 2022 - Just The Gist Of It

Have you ever felt overwhelmed the the color palette of a kit and thought "that isn't for me?" Well I'm here to help you out this month. First let's remind ourselves what the kit looks like this time. We are being inspired by the Denim & Blush Modern Memory Keeping Kit by Cocoa Daisy from February 2021. Coca Daisy offers LOADS of product options for the same design line in various kit options and add-ons. You can view the entire line offered for this design theme. For now let's focus on the main kit and pattern papers.

Denim & Blush Modern Memory Keeping Kit

When you first look at this kit, the main colors that might jump out at you are the pink, peach, and navy blue. What if you are just tired of pink or you don't even like pink? Don't write this kit off as "not for me"! Instead dive deeper!

And here is a close up of some of the pattern papers.

If we take a closer look at both of those images, we can see secondary colors in this kit. While the navy is there, now the predominant colors are a coral red, a golden yellow and, less obvious, a powder blue. Go ahead and use those as your main kit colors!

Now you have a whole new color palette to work with and can build your kit without pink or navy! I hope this helps you look deeper into images to find the bits and pieces that can work for you to build a kit you'll love. I'll leave you with a peek at what I built with this color palette. My colors ended up a little bolder but that is what I had in my stash. Even if you don't have those exact colors in your stash, you can still make it work!
