June 2025 - Challenge #4 - Use Those Scraps

How is it already the end of the month? June just flew by and it's time to share our final challenge with you for our June kits!  Let me remind you of the inspiration kit:

NJFB "Intrinsic" Limitless Kit

Our final challenge each month is always to challenge you in new ways to use your scraps from your wonderful creations this month!  You could create another layout! You could create a card or even a mini album.  Let's see what our Master Forgers created for you this month!

Master Forger Tara

I actually have been using my scraps up as I go this month so all I had left was a partial sheet of the rainbow paper and the rusty background!!!  I fussy cut some of the rainbows out of the rainbow patterned paper and then tore off a border of it to use the B side (black with white dots) as a border along the top of the layout.  I used a stencil to add some grunge to the kraft cardstock that I used as a base for this layout.  I added in some leafy bits that i cut from other scraps.

Master Forger Jody

Used up 3 strips of paper from her June kit. Scraps are not always small but can be substantial in size for a fun background.

 Master Forger Misty
She didn't have many scraps this time. But... she made efficient use of small scraps. She used them to back the cutfile that MK offered to the group (find it in the files section of our Facebook group). She also punched out stars to go with the cutfile for cohesive embellishing.

Well, the month of June is over but make sure you check back tomorrow for the July Inspiration Kit Reveal and Social Media Hop.  July is being hostessed by Master Forger Vikki!

We love to see what you are working on!  Drop in your projects to our Facebook Community Group and of course tag us on Instagram at #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcjune2025

June 2025 - Forgeries on the Fourth

Welcome back!  Today, the Master Forgers and I are going to share our counterfeited kit items.  Let me remind you of our inspiration kit:

NJFB "Intrinsic" Limitless Kit

Our Guest Designer has a special forgery for you this month.  She's created a cutfile that you can download for free if you are a member of the FaceBook Community Group.  Details will be on the group today.  After June is over, the cutfile will be available for sale in her shop

Here's the photo of the cutfile from the inspiration kit.  If you are interested in grabbing this free cutfile from Some Assemblage Required, please go to the group and see today's scheduled post!  If you are new to this blog and haven't joined yet, the link is at the end of this post.  Make sure you answer the membership questions and agree to the group's rules.

Here's a photo of MK's cutfile-available for free on the FaceBook Group

To receive this cutfile, you must be a member of the CKCB FaceBook Community Group

Master Forger Jody really loved the stars in the add-on kits.  I agree-they ARE quite fun.

These are great little textural accents for any layout.

Jody found a piece of burlap paper and used her trusty Silhouette to cut out stars.

Here is the final layout!

 Master Forger Tara

I loved the acrylic word "Roam" and the mushroom die cut so I checked out my Silhouette Design Studio library and found a font to create a similar "Roam" word and a cutfile of mushrooms (cutfile #416534) that is also similar to the one in the kit.  Here's a screenshot of my Silhouette Design Studio workspace prior to cutting out the designs:

I will be using one of the sheets of the "rusty" patterned paper for the Roam and will be stacking the three to create a title piece from paper similar to the acrylic in the kit. Remember, forgeries can be close and not exact.  Here's my completed cutfiles:

You may wonder why I cut three of the word.  It's because I stacked them to create the illusion of an acrylic title piece.  I also did the same with my mushroom cutfile.

Master Forger Julene

I wiped over an offcut of clock paper with a used teabag to age it ready to use this month.

Misty was excited by multiple items again this month. She ended up making three forgeries.  She recreated the metal charms using shrink plastic and metallic pigment ink.

The stars sure were popular with the team this month!
Misty made hers out of felt instead of corduroy.

She loved many of the mushroom images and combined ideas to make mushroom postage stamps (as well as a slew of others). Not an exact forgery, but a lovely idea anyway.

And a look at everything all together.

May 2025 - Challenge #1 - Foodie

Before we dive in with our first challenge of the month, let's take another look at this month's inspiration kit:

Anywhere but here

I don't know about you but when we go on vacation or a road trip to new and different places we love to try new food and new restaurants. I also love to take photos of my food and us in the restaurants and sometimes the signs outside or any photo ops they might have. So for this months first challenge I want you to document about food.

Here is our guest Designers Kathy's layout:

Here is a few close ups of her layout:

Master Forger Jody
took a quick pic to document her families favorite place to stop before a Road Trip! Buc-ee's has every type a drink her family could want while on the road. Her husband always has to get the biggest cup possible.

Master Forger Jojo

Here is my layout, I scrapped photos of a recent vacation dinner we went on.
I was so excited that I actually used a chipboard embellishment that is well over 20 years old.

Let's see what we have lined up for the rest of this month:
  • 18th May - Challenge #2
  • 22nd May - Challenge #3 Sketch Challenge
  • 24th May - Follower Showcase

April 2025 - Mini Kit and Project Reveal

It's time for our mini-kit reveal! Whether you are in a busy-season of life, or perhaps you want to make a MINI project, we are here to show you some alternate ideas to be inspired by our kit and use up your stash!

Before we dive in with our Master Forgers, here's a reminder of this month's inspiration kit

MF Tara is doing both a full kit and a mini kit this month, she thought she'd do something a little bit rogue.  The main kit is very boyish so her mini kit is very girlie!

The papers in her mini kit are the girl companion papers to the Boy Crazy collection in her main kit from My Mind's Eye.  She added some metal gears (cogs), flowers, some large alpha stickers and some mini alpha stickers.

Here's Tara's first project with this kit

Tara's second project features a photo of her granddaughter being Miss SassyPants.

MF Jody

Hey crafty friends! I am sharing my mini kit and project. I had a specific project in mind when I asked for the mini kit! So let's take a closer look!

I loved all the colors in the inspiration kit. I think I did a good job of pulling from my stash.  Now on to my project.

I leaned heavy on the Navy and Pinks but I am super proud of my mini album. It is a gift and I think my mom will treasure it.

Come back again next week as we start sharing some challenges to get you creating!

  • 12th April - Challenge #1
  • 18th April - Challenge #2
  • 22nd April - Challenge #3 Sketch Challenge
  • 24th April - Follower Showcase
  • 26th April - April Sneak Peek (on Instagram and the Facebook Community)
  • 30th April - Challenge #4 Baby, Use Those Scraps Challenge

March 2025 - Challenge #4 - Baby, Use Those Scraps!

What a great month it has been. It is always an adventure making sure all the little blog details are covered.  Hopefully you have had a wonderful experience as I have. Here is a final look at our Inspiration kit for the month.

 A Beach Tale

Now, let's go ahead and wrap up the month with our final scraps challenge!

MF Tina
Had fun creating this layout from just some of the scraps from her kit

MF Jody created a mini album with all the pretty tropical paper that she still had in her kit.  The album design is from a Heidi Swapp class and can be used with any paper collection. Now Jody has a mini ready to go for her first Summer outing.

We've made it to the very last challenge of March. Stay tuned, because we have a new  month coming - and new inspiration is literally right around the corner!
