Challenge #2: Date Stamp

Raise your hand if you own at least one date stamp.

How about several date stamps?

Ummm...a bucket of date stamps? (Raising my hand here)

I don't know how it happened!  Honest!  One day I thought, boy, it would be nice to have a date stamp...and apparently they breed or something!  True story!

Challenge #2:  

Use a date stamp in an interesting way.

Here are some ideas and inspiration from your Master Forgers....


It's hard not to notice the gold trend EVERYWHERE!  The gold vellum map paper in the kit is fabulous, but it is also out of stock EVERYWHERE!  Take a look at this tutorial HERE from Debbie Hodge to see how you can use gold leaf to create the same effect.

Now, let's just say you don't have a Silhouette or a laminator or a laser printer or a jar of gold leafing.  Not to worry as Master Forger Lynnette has a poor scrapper's version of the vellum map paper.  Take a look at her blog HERE.

Angela was inspired by some of the patchwork look embellishments to make these gorgeous paper pieced flowers out of paper scraps. You can find out how on her blog here.

Angela also had a go at making her own stitching templates after admiring the one in the embellishments addon pack by Amy Tangerine. She shows us how easy it is to do on her blog.

10 Minute Birthday Cards

See, I knew you'd come back!!!

December Birthdays

Hey! Did I blink? December already!

Have you been creating Christmas cards with Stephanie?

Me and her are miles apart, it's the cards I struggle with 

Lesley here on the blog today with a little kit which will

hopefully inspire you to make a birthday card or two.

Do you know someone with a December or early January birthday

and always forget to make them due to the festive season?

(I certainly do, my Brother-in-law is 50 on the 31st and The Child is 16 on the 4th of January)

Hopefully we can get through it together and get creating some easy birthday cards.

What do you say? Come on, let's go....

Ok so I chose a 6x6 paper pad, a few stamps and embellishments to create this little kit...

And by using a circle punch and adding some twine and gems, here is my first birthday card

which literally took 10 minutes from start to finish.

So, if you're in a panic having forgotten somebody's birthday, why not pop back tomorrow for a few more 10 minute cards...

Challenge #2: Confetti Challenge!

We have another great challenge from Queen Laura!

When I was looking for a kit for us to Counterfeit, I checked out Ashley Calder's Etsy Shop.  Unfortunately, the kits are a little too small to base a whole month of scrapping on.  I couldn't get them out of my head, though, so this challenge is inspired by THIS KIT.  On the far right hand side of the picture is a bag of awesome confetti.

Challenge #2:  Use confetti on your layout.

August Challenge #2: Sketch Challenge

Sometimes it is nice to sit back and relax and not have to think so hard!    So how about a Sketch Challenge?

Challenge #2:  Use This Sketch from October Afternoon to take a bit of a crafting break.  Maybe stretch a bit by NOT using it for a card?

Jemma has rotated the sketch and had fun with a chevron punch borrowed from Lesley!

Susanne has used the top 3/4 of the sketch, and used diagonal paper as well as chevron stickers.

 
Julene has made a  cool card for a teen

LesleyG stuck to the sketch and used her stamps and homemade stencil to

create parts of the layout...

Angela kept her page rectangle, but flipped it round to make her page landscape.

Leslie both squished & stretched with a little added banner cluster.
